15 most significant craft breweries in Europe

Once American beer lovers associated Belgium with craft samples of this drink, but today the United States occupies a leading position in the craft brewing industry, with more breweries than any other country in the world. Nevertheless, over the past few decades, a group of companies has emerged that paved the way for the revival, expansion and development of the European craft beer market in a new, shocking format. They consciously left the traditions of the Old World and showed the whole world what they are capable of, thanks to their skill and endless enthusiasm, quality and taste, popularity and inspirational desire for positive changes.

If you are already familiar with most of the representatives of the American craft industry, you should also get acquainted with the leading craft breweries in Europe. Large and small, modern and traditional, they are located in various parts of the Old World – from the sunny shores of the Mediterranean to the Arctic Circle, and in the near future, apparently, more interesting craft novelties will appear on the European continent. Opinion: what a brewer should be able to cook

In the section “Opinion”, which publishes reflections on the cornerstone issues of modern craft brewing, we asked several brewers to speak on what should be able to cook in 2019.

I admit, it was quite difficult to move away from some racks, as beer, at times, left me in a little shock. Secondly, this is the New England IPA. They were also abundant here: muddy, juicy, fruity, dense, double, triple, with prefixes micro and DDH. Thirdly, it is impossible not to mention the whole variety of “sour”. Continue reading

Tasting: nine varieties from three breweries from St. Petersburg

Not so long ago, the second Zauglom network opened in Minsk. A bar-shop with a large selection of beer and, importantly, its own import is already overgrown with regular visitors and is supplemented with juicy novelties every week. Pivo.by conducted a tasting of nine varieties from several breweries from the northern capital of Russia and is in a hurry to share its impressions with you.

This time, four brave beer lovers acted as tasters. Connoisseur Alex Leit, the brave roundabout Nikita Karasev and a great lover of wine and beer – Kirill Dubovsky. The journalist Pivo.by Artyom Avakov helped and documented the whole process. The opponents were bottles and bottling from Knightberg (and the side project Rock’n’Beer), GAS Brew and contractors on the Bones (Toksovskaya Sidreria). Continue reading
