Beer guide in Vilnius

The capital of Lithuania annually attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists from the CIS countries and Europe. This is largely due to the fact that low-cost airlines fly regularly to this European city. However, do not take Vilnius only as an intermediate point of your route. In our opinion, the city deserves a more careful and substantive study. Vilnius is especially good on summer evenings. Especially for you, we have selected more than 15 (!) Establishments for every taste, where you can study the achievements of Lithuanian breweries in an easy and relaxed atmosphere or just pass the time.

First of all, we advise you to study the assortment of the Nisha Craft Capital bar (L. Stuokos-Gucevičiaus g. 9). This small bar is located on the ground floor of a residential building, directly opposite the Church of the Holy Cross. The assortment is impressive: 22 cranes and about 100 positions in refrigerators and shelves. Mostly new products and time-tested local varieties are presented, but the choice of imported samples is also not bad. Glasses of various volumes allow you to dive deeper into the realities of the modern craft market in Lithuania, and also not much to spend on “overseas” exclusives.

Cozy Barshop Prohibicija (Arklių g. 6) is located in the courtyard of the art space, which united several institutions at once. You are waiting for 12 taps with local and not only varieties (which are sometimes replenished with four taps on the terrace) and more than 50 bottles in the refrigerator. The bar is an importer of several brands (Põhjala, To Øl), therefore, these breweries are given special attention. In the institution you can take a tasting set to try several varieties of interest to you at once.

One of the few verified establishments in the city is the craft bar Alaus biblioteka (Trakų g. 4). An atmospheric place, which got its name for the interior, made in the style of the reading room of the library. It boasts an impressive 17 taps with craft (and not only) beer, as well as more than 30 varieties in bottles and cans. Prices are above average for Vilnius, but definitely worth a stop. It is possible to order a tasting set.

A little further from the historical center is the Local Pub (J. Jasinskio g. 1). An institution in the loft style with a rather unusual (blue) color of the walls is remembered from the first visit. The comfortable bar and spacious bar areas with large tables are ideal for companies. 12 taps with predominantly local beer and a cold room, which stores more than 70 varieties from various manufacturers. You can try any beer from the tap in cute 200 ml glasses. You can also order a tasting set.

Almost in the center of the old town, a five-minute walk from the Town Hall Square, there is a bar with excellent gastronomy and a selection of beers – Beerhouse Craft & Kitchen (Vokiečių g. 24). 22 taps with draft beer, among which were not without craft. More varieties are found in refrigerators (about 100 items). The feature of the restaurant is a full, satisfying cuisine. There is also a tasting set with three probes on board.

Smagus Raugas / Happy Brew is a small bar-shop located in the very center of the city at Bokšto g. 8. The institution has a fairly specific working time, but it is quite suitable for “hunting.” A couple of constantly updated cranes and more than 70 varieties in containers in several refrigerators. Beer prices are not indicated on the bottles, so a trip to this bar sometimes resembles a kind of quest. Among the craft assortment are Belgium, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and classics from around the world. There is also a small wine shelf.

If you are not far from the bus or train station, you can drop by the small bar Dėvėti (Sodų g. 3). 13 taps, mainly local, and several dozen different bottles and cans are always at your service. There is a full kitchen at the bar, so you definitely won’t leave here hungry. If you travel with friends who do not share your beer cravings, do not despair, you can also drink strong alcohol and classic cocktails at the restaurant.

The network of Špunka establishments has spread to many cities of Lithuania. In particular, in Vilnius there are several bars of this network at once. We will talk about two, each of which may be convenient for you depending on the place of residence. So, the first bar is located at Etmonų g. 3, in the adjacent building with the aforementioned Prohibicija. Mostly locals go to the institution, who especially do not chase Chekins and new experience. And there is definitely something to drink here! The bar has 12 cranes with local and imported craft, as well as a small refrigerator for 20-30 varieties in containers. There are snacks, but no tasters. The second bar is located across the river, in the district of Uzhupis (Užupio g. 9-1), not far from the church of St. Bartholomew.
